Employment & Job Training
The Power of Work Changes Lives
Our Job Development programs are the essence of our mission. They are designed to help participants achieve their full potential to work and achieve goals. Our programs focus on meeting individual needs, and ensure each participant progresses at the appropriate level. Anyone from the public can access Goodwill Job Connection Centers.
Goodwill’s unique approach to employment training doesn’t stop at job placement. Based on individual’s need, Goodwill continues to work with clients for as long as needed after having landed the job. Our wrap-around approach ensures employers get the support they need including business needs analysis, placement consultation, job-carving, diversity awareness education and training for business employees, crisis intervention, and on-site job coaching. Goodwill works on and off the job site with clients offering soft-skills training, problem solving, career advancement, and advocacy awareness.
Goodwill and local businesses partner to provide clients opportunities for first-hand job training in competitive work settings. Each year, on average, 90 new businesses join Goodwill in helping clients gain much needed soft-skills and job readiness skills, plus Goodwill and businesses team up over 450 times a year to provide work experience for our clients.
We provide job-related services for people with barriers to employment. Participants are supported and encouraged to reach their long-term goals. Programs include:
