Help employees make a smooth transition into the workplace

Partnering with Southern Oregon Goodwill® allows you to fill a need and helps us with our mission to “enable employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.” While working with our clients and you, we can identify and match specific clients to help fill your job needs all while helping people gain employment.

We place participants in supported work (SW) activities for the purpose of increasing their employability through the development of basic work skills and occupational skills, to assess training needs and work readiness. A Goodwill staff member, referring counselor, and the Supported worksite will work together to determine the specific SW assignment based on the local labor market and the individual client needs. It’s a 90-day working interview with potential tax credits for your business.

 

 

 

 

When your business is a supported work-site, eligible job seekers will work there for up to 20 hours a week for a predetermined number of weeks at no cost to you! Our goal is to ensure candidates gain marketable skills and a great reference, or, if you don’t want to lose them, hire them for a full-time position.

How to get connected:

  1. Contact us and let us know you’re interested.
     
  2. Provide us with a detailed job description for each position you are trying to fill, so we can best match a prospective employee.
     
  3. Once an employee is hired, our employment specialists will assist that employee at the job, learning the skills, and making sure they understand what is expected of them. Once they learn the tasks and you are comfortable with their performance, you will be responsible for their day-to-day duties.
     
  4. Inform us on how they are doing with the job on a regular basis so we can ensure their satisfaction and yours. We will visit them in the workplace, as needed.
