Southern Oregon Goodwill Industries will host a career fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Goodwill Employment & Training Center, 11 W. Jackson St., Medford. Connecting people seeking work with employers who are hiring is part of Goodwill’s mission to enable employment.
The career fair is open to all job candidates. Applicants of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Hiring managers representing local employers in retail, health care, banking, manufacturing, hospitality and services are expected to attend to meet with candidates. People seeking full-time or part-time work in should bring resumes, dress professionally and be prepared to interview. Last year, 110 people attended Goodwill’s career fair in Medford.
Participating employers include Advanced Business Teleservices (ABT), CDS Publications, Central Point Holiday Inn, Elwood Staffing, First Student, Harry & David, Labor Ready, Lil’ Pantry, Marshall’s, Pilot Travel Center, Providence, Rogue Credit Union, Rogue Valley Manor (PRS), Ross Dress for Less, Southern Oregon Goodwill, Southern Oregon Head Start, and TJ Maxx.
The career fair in Medford is one of 232 events held nationwide during Goodwill Industries Week, an annual event that promotes Goodwill’s mission and celebrates the power of work. This year, Goodwill Industries Week is May 7-13. For 115 years, Goodwill Industries International has helped people get back to work and support their families. Goodwill helps anyone facing challenges to finding employment — including youth, older job seekers, veterans and military families, immigrants, and people with other specialized needs — gain skills and credentials, find employment, obtain job training, and receive necessary support services. Southern Oregon Goodwill was founded in 1967 in Grants Pass and is celebrating five decades of service this year.
