RentWell is a 15-hour course that covers essential topics for anyone who wants to rent a home, especially those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. By taking this class, you will gain valuable knowledge and skills on how to:
- Understand the basics of renting, such as leases, deposits, inspections, and fair housing laws.
- Manage your finances, budget, and credit to afford rent and utilities.
- Search for housing that meets your needs and preferences.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with landlords and neighbors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy rental.
- Prevent and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during your tenancy.
- Access resources and support if you need help with your housing situation.
These classes aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve and maintain housing stability, enhancing their overall quality of life. Through this class graduates may also be eligible for additional housing incentives, and support.
RentWell classes are held regularly at the Southern Oregon Goodwill administrative offices at 11 W. Jackson St. in Medford.
