Southern Oregon Goodwill facilitated a Community Action Poverty Simulation at the Rogue Regency Inn in Medford on Tuesday, November 19 in partnership with the Medford/Jackson County Chamber of Chamber Leadership Program.
The simulation, developed by a community action agency in Missouri, enables participants to view poverty from different angles and then discuss the potential for change within their communities. It’s designed to sensitize those who serve low-income families and to create a broader awareness of poverty issues among policymakers and community leaders. More than 50 people participated in the Jackson County simulation.
Special thanks to facilitator Amy Mulhollen, to Chamber Leadership coordinator Kimberly Hicks, and underwriters Hart Insurance.
