Group health insurance seminar offers tips

Roseburg, OR — Southern Oregon Goodwill® Industries presents a free seminar to provide business owners and managers information about affordable group healthcare coverage in a time of change.

Healthcare for Employers: How to Prepare for Changes in the Affordable Care Act is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Cascade Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 SW Frear St., Roseburg. Jim Walton, Vice President of Business Development at Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, and Paul Schmitt, Benefits Manager at Roseburg, A Forest Products Co., will speak. They will discuss cost-saving tips to help businesses get the best health insurance plan and how potential changes in the Affordable Care Act could affect local companies.

Please register for this event as soon as possible at www.sogoodwill.org/healthcare. Check-in will open at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and the one-hour presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m.

This presentation is part of a Goodwill Learning Lab Leadership Series that targets business leaders in Douglas County and offers free presentations on employment topics. The series is sponsored by Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, with additional support from local media partners including Brooke Communications, The News-Review, and KPIC, the CBS affiliate in Roseburg.

 

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, Kyle Bailey at KQEN featured Goodwill Workforce Development Director Tehren Randleas on Douglas County Today. They talked about the Healthcare for Employers seminar, the rest of the Learning Lab Leadership Series, and Goodwill’s mission of enabling employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
