The GoodBooks program is a heartwarming initiative that Southern Oregon Goodwill® has launched to foster a love for reading among children and youth!
GoodBooks invites children aged 0-18 to visit any Southern Oregon Goodwill location and pick out one book a day for free, with no purchase necessary. Participants receive a bookmark which also serves as a reading tracker. Once they have read 25 books, participants receive a $5 Southern Oregon Goodwill gift certificate! The program is not only about encouraging reading but also about delivering Goodwill’s mission to a younger audience, providing opportunities for personal and professional growth through the fundamental step of reading.
The GoodBooks program aligns with Goodwill’s broader mission by instilling a sense of stability, confidence, pride, and setting an example for future generations. It’s a testament to the power of community and the shared belief that education and employment are interconnected pathways to growth.
GoodBooks is about more than just free books!
This is a program that fosters a love of reading and a vision for a brighter future. It’s a way of celebrating the joy of reading and the difference it can make in a child’s life, now and later.
