After 25 years of serving the Central Point community, we are writing a new chapter in Southern Oregon Goodwill’s history.
On a bright and sunny July 8 morning, community leaders, construction partners, and our dedicated staff gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new 19,000 square-foot facility on Biddle Road in Central Point, near Costco.
More Than a Store
This expansion represents far more than a larger retail space. The new facility will house services that embody our core mission: to enable employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, while committing to sustainable practices.
The space includes a 10,000 square-foot retail floor, an expanded donation center with improved loading dock, and a comprehensive Job Connection Center with Learning Lab.
“After celebrating 25 years here, we’re excited to offer a better experience for donors, customers, and the Central Point team. We’ll get to grow our model of providing job services in the new space, which will also allow us to place more interns. These are paid opportunities to gain skills in the workplace.”
– Katie Zerkel, Southern Oregon Goodwill Board Chair

Expanding Access to Employment Services
The Job Connection Center will serve as a dynamic hub where individuals can access free, on-site job services, including resume development, interview preparation, personalized career coaching and more. The facility is designed to equip job-seekers with the tools and confidence they need to thrive in the workforce.
When the facility opens in late summer 2026, it will become our eighth Job Connection Center, significantly expanding our reach across Southern Oregon and Northern California.

Community Collaboration
The groundbreaking ceremony highlighted the collaborative spirit driving this project forward. Representatives from Adroit Construction and Arkitek — who will collectively lead the 13-month construction period — joined together with members of The Central Point Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Taneea Browning, Kelley Create, Hart Insurance, and the Central Point Goodwill team to mark this milestone.
“This is our fourth project with the Adroit team, and their partnership is what makes the vision possible. We’re excited to bring this new space to life for a team that works hard every day.”
– Shae Johns, President & CEO of Southern Oregon Goodwill

Transforming Lives, Strengthening Communities
The impact of this expansion extends beyond job statistics and square footage.
“Goodwill can help transform the life of not just one person, but of entire families. So it’s easy to get excited about the impact of this project. Seeing people buy their first cars or pursue their new passions—it’s so empowering.”
– Katie Zerkel, Southern Oregon Goodwill Board Chair

We’d like to extend our gratitude to our dedicated Board, incredible construction partners, and the entire community for their continued support. Together, we are embarking on an exciting new chapter in our commitment to fostering employment and providing vital services across the region.
