Shae Johns is the President and CEO of Southern Oregon Goodwill – a role she has held since November 2014. Shae was born in West Virginia but considers herself a native Oregonian, having attended school in the Rogue Valley from elementary through high school. She graduated from South Medford High in 1995.
In 2001 she relocated to Colorado to pursue her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, while beginning a career in healthcare. While in Denver, Shae met her husband Chris. They have two children, a boy (age 5) and a girl (age 8).
In 2009 she jumped at the opportunity to return to the Rogue Valley to be closer to family and to raise her kids in this beautiful area. Returning to Goodwill in 2011 as the Director of Mission Services, Shae was thrilled to be back doing what she enjoys the most — helping people with barriers find and keep jobs.
A Certified Executive with Goodwill Industries International, she is passionate about creating an inclusive community that values opportunities for all its citizens. In 2017, she joined the Council of Executives, representing Goodwill at the national level. This position includes a membership on the Goodwill Industries Board of Directors. In addition, Shae is Vice Chair for the California Council of Goodwills and Chair for Goodwill Northwest Association. Shae volunteers many hours in the Rogue Valley from coaching youth sports to serving as the former Board President for the Addictions Recovery Center. Shae has a lifetime love of equestrian sports and spends as much free time as possible with her family enjoying the many recreational opportunities of lakes, mountains, and ocean beaches that Southern Oregon offers.
