The Story Behind The Store
“The attitude they reflect is the same as we find in the top 10% of employees.” — GARY
This employer sees ability, not disablity
The owner of the McDonald’s franchise in Roseburg, Gary Eads is a shining example of an employer who recognizes ability, not disability, and offers support and opportunity for all. He first connected with Goodwill as a training site and within months hired multiple people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Ivory Pike and Arthur Irvine.
“They show up and want to work and want to learn,” he said. “The attitude they reflect is the same as we find in the top 10% of employees.”
Gary’s commitment to giving back to the community and helping individuals reach their highest potential gives Arthur and Ivory meaningful work and makes Gary’s restaurants welcoming places that showcase diversity.
